Looking for a 3month flexible and fun Fellowship, try BNKEF10:19:00 AM
Since dropping out of Actuarial School at The University of Nairobi due to my illness, I have done most of my learning through volunteering and fellowships. One that i am most proud of is the Spark International Accelerator program in September last year and of course my ongoing partnership with one of Kenya's leading mental health advocacy organizations, BasicNeeds UK in Kenya. When I started sharing about my experiences through poetry and here on my blog, one the first organizations to embrace me was BasicNeeds UK in Kenya and from August 2010, we have had an amazing working engagement. I have learnt loads about advocacy and mental health in general, I have done field visits and had amazing fun and engaging networking events with different young people from across the country. They have played an amazing part in my development as a mental health and epilepsy crusader.
Based on this experience that I and many other young people have had at BasicNeeds, they have decided to have a 3 months fellowship program from Feb 17th - May 17th. The program is amazingly engaging, the hours uber flexible and the rewards, well all I can say, I am a living testimony. They are looking for four (4) social, fun loving, passionate and committed young people for their first intake. (Read details about the programme in the fellowship blog)
Application Deadline Wednesday 5th February 2014, 1pm and shortlisting interviews on Saturday 8th February 2014. All skill sets welcome and applicants with mental, psychosocial problems or epilepsy or those with a family member with any of the listed problems will be given first priority.
